We specialise in the traditional exterior painting of historic timber buildings and other culturally significant properties. With extensive expertise in traditional paint systems, historic materials and time-honoured painting techniques, we help buildings regain their original appearance while creating durable finishes that weather beautifully over time.

We work with traditional paint types such as linseed oil paint, traditional red paint (Falu red) and limewash—materials that have been used throughout the Nordic countries for centuries and whose technical performance is well proven. These breathable paints allow timber and masonry to perform naturally, age gracefully and can easily be maintained. In many cases, they are both technically and economically superior to modern coating systems when maintaining historic buildings.

Successful exterior painting is about much more than selecting the right type of paint. Equally important is choosing colours and painting techniques that are appropriate to the building's age, architecture and cultural significance. Every historical period had its own pigments, colour palettes and painting methods. For this reason, we always study the building's history before recommending paint systems and colour schemes.

We use traditional colours created from natural earth pigments and mineral oxide pigments, resulting in authentic colour schemes that complement both the architecture of the building and its surrounding landscape. Where appropriate, we also carry out historic paint investigations to identify earlier paint layers and accurately restore the original colour scheme.

Our objective is always the same: to deliver painting work that is technically correct, historically authentic and durable for generations to come.
