We carry out copper and sheet metal work on historic buildings with great respect for their architecture, traditional construction methods and original detailing. Sheet metal work forms an essential part of a building's weather envelope, protecting it from the elements while contributing significantly to its architectural character.

Our services include the manufacture and installation of window flashings, roof mouldings, chimney flashings, dormer flashings and other bespoke copper and sheet metal components. We also undertake repairs to metal roofs. Every element is individually manufactured to suit the dimensions, architectural style and historical period of the building, ensuring seamless integration with its original appearance.

Where a complete standing seam metal roof requires replacement, we work together with our trusted specialist partners. Through our established network, we are able to provide comprehensive, high-quality roofing solutions that combine traditional craftsmanship with the principles of historic building conservation.

Clay tile roofs are another characteristic feature of many historic buildings. Whenever possible, we preserve and reuse the original roof tiles during restoration projects. At projects such as the restoration of Eira Hospital in Helsinki, retaining as much of the original clay tile roofing as possible has been an important conservation objective.

Where replacement tiles are required, we source either newly manufactured clay tiles produced to historic profiles or carefully selected reclaimed tiles from our trusted suppliers. During every clay tile roof restoration, we also inspect the roof structure and carry out any necessary structural repairs to ensure the roof remains sound and durable for generations to come.
