Custom-built kitchens and interior joinery

At our workshop in Ekenäs, we design and manufacture bespoke kitchens and fitted interiors for clients who value quality craftsmanship, timeless design and exceptional materials. Every kitchen is individually designed and built to suit the client's requirements as well as the architecture and proportions of the building—no two kitchens are ever the same.

We have extensive experience in creating kitchens with historically authentic detailing and design language that complements period properties. Working closely with our designer, we develop layouts that balance functionality, aesthetics and the character of the building. Particular attention is given to proportions, materials and fine details, resulting in kitchens that feel as though they have always belonged in the house.

To achieve the appearance of a genuinely built-in kitchen, every cabinet and joinery element is made to the exact dimensions of the room—from wall to wall and floor to ceiling—without filler panels or standard modular units. Cabinets are finished with traditional crown mouldings, while the base can be detailed with either a classic skirting board or a recessed plinth to suit the architectural style of the building.

Doors and drawer fronts are inset or rebated, and the visible cabinet framework is constructed with seamless proportions throughout. The result is a kitchen that reads as one cohesive piece of furniture, just like the bespoke kitchens traditionally found in historic homes.

Our designs are inspired by traditional kitchen architecture, where form follows function and every cabinet is created for its specific purpose. This produces kitchens with harmony, character and carefully balanced proportions. Because every kitchen is made to measure, the design is guided solely by the room itself, the chosen appliances and the client's individual wishes.

Our particular expertise lies in turn-of-the-century and Shaker-style kitchens, although we also create kitchens inspired by Functionalism and mid-century design, as well as contemporary kitchens crafted in solid oak. In addition to kitchens, we manufacture libraries, wardrobes, bathroom furniture and other bespoke fitted interiors to the same exacting standards.

Materials and Craftsmanship

Our kitchens are built entirely from solid timber, and we never compromise on material quality.

Cabinet frames in solid birch with oiled interiors and hand-painted exteriors.
Drawer boxes in solid birch with birch plywood bases.
Doors and drawer fronts in solid birch, hand-painted with a brush.
No particleboard or MDF—only premium solid finger-jointed birch.
Cabinet doors and integrated appliance fronts are flush for a clean, elegant appearance.
Premium Blum hinges and drawer runners.
Finishes using furniture paints from Farrow & Ball and Little Greene, or Rubio Monocoat hardwax oil.
Worktops in solid oak or natural stone and quartz from Nerostein.
Bespoke brass or copper cooker hoods.
Sandblasted decorative glass for display cabinets.
Appliances, taps and hardware selected according to the client's preferences.
Careful packaging, insured transport and professional installation.

Showroom

Our showroom is located at our workshop at Ekerövägen 10, FI-10600 Ekenäs, Finland, where you can experience our kitchens and joinery in person. Visits are by appointment Monday to Friday, 9:00 am–5:00 pm, or by arrangement.

A selection of our joinery is also on display at the Trähus Butiken, Rantatie 32, FI-04310 Tuusula, on Saturdays from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm.
