Decorative painting

Decorative painting is one of the most refined traditional crafts within building conservation and an essential part of the restoration of historic interiors and façades. Using time-honoured painting techniques, we restore and recreate decorative finishes that preserve the original character and identity of a building.

Our work includes hand-painted borders, faux marble finishes, wood graining, stencil decoration and other decorative painting based on historic references or paint investigations. We also carry out decorative work on façades, fireplaces, doors, panelling, bespoke fitted interiors, staircases and entrance halls, where decorative painting forms an integral part of the building's architectural expression.

Every project begins with careful research into the building's history, architectural period and surviving paint layers. This enables us to select the appropriate techniques, pigments and materials to recreate finishes that are historically accurate and fully in harmony with the architecture.

We work with traditional pigments and paint systems suitable for historic buildings, using craftsmanship that has been passed down through generations. Whether restoring original decorative schemes or creating new period-appropriate decoration, our objective is always the same: to produce work that feels authentic to the building and will be appreciated for generations to come.

Decorative painting is far more than ornamentation. It reflects the history of a building, the traditions of craftsmanship and the people who originally created it. By respecting these values, we help historic interiors and façades regain their original character and unique atmosphere.
