The success of a restoration project depends not only on skilled craftsmen but also on experienced site and project management. The restoration of historic buildings is rarely a straightforward process. Once structures are opened up, new discoveries almost always require plans to be refined and solutions to be reconsidered. For this reason, practical restoration experience and specialist knowledge of historic buildings are essential for effective project management.

At Trähus, our site managers and project managers do far more than oversee schedules and budgets. They have extensive hands-on experience in the restoration of historic buildings and a thorough understanding of traditional construction methods, materials and craftsmanship. This enables them to make informed decisions and guide projects in the right direction when unforeseen circumstances arise.

In reality, no restoration project proceeds exactly according to the original plans. One of the most important responsibilities of our management team is therefore to assess changing conditions, understand their implications for the building and present well-founded recommendations to the client. Every decision is made with careful consideration for the building's cultural significance, technical performance and the long-term value of the investment.

We are responsible for project scheduling, cost control, documentation, quality assurance, site coordination and communication between clients, designers, authorities, subcontractors and other stakeholders. Open communication and complete transparency are fundamental principles throughout every stage of the project.

Effective site and project management is about far more than organising construction work. It requires the ability to understand the building, respond thoughtfully to new information and lead the restoration towards a result that respects its history, safeguards its future and delivers lasting value for the owner.
