Krapihovi, Tuusula

Krapi farm is first mentioned on maps of Tuusula as early as the 17th century. It is one of the seven hereditary farms of Tuusula church village. In the 19th century the farm was run by Henrik Krapi. His son Karl August Michelsson Krapi moved the outbuilding and storehouses to their current location and built a new main building.

Counsellor of State G.F. Sourander bought Krapi as his summer residence in 1882. By midsummer the following year, the current main building, designed by architect F.W. Mieritz, had been completed.

Krapi has been owned by the Holma family since 1911, first as a dairy farm and today as a hospitality business built around genuine encounters.

We began a multi-year collaboration with Krapi in 2023. The goal is to restore the main building to its former splendour, one area at a time. In the first year, the focus was the kitchen area. The entire professional kitchen was renewed and the structures were repaired thoroughly. In total, about 150 metres of logs were replaced.

In 2024 we focused on the road-facing facade and rebuilt the veranda and balcony according to the original 1883 drawing. In 2025 the facade repairs continued, and in 2026 the focus is on restoring the ground floor structures.

We have worked with Trähus for several years, and I am very satisfied with our collaboration. Through a well-functioning partnership and their professional skill, we have achieved excellent results in both repair quality and cost efficiency.
